Why your skin needsVitamin C
The biggest contributor to premature skin aging is sun damage. Sun exposure produces free radicals that attack your skin and break down collagen and elastin, the building blocks of the skin. Vitamin C helps correct this damage by stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin. It also slows down further aging by improving the skin barrier that protects against harmful free radicals.
Vitamin C stores are constantly being depleted, so you must supplement with it to realize these anti-aging benefits.
Why most Vitamin C skin care products don’t work
Vitamin C has been proven to be one of the most effective ingredients in anti-aging, but not all Vitamin C is created equal.
For Vitamin C to be effective at stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and protecting against sun damage, it needs to be fully absorbed by the skin, and not able to be washed off. And for full absorption to happen, it must meet 3 conditions:
It needs to be the correct form of Vitamin C and not partial Vitamin C or a derivative. The only type of Vitamin C your skin can fully absorb is L-Ascorbic Acid.
It needs to be water-based. Your skin cannot fully absorb any other form, like silicon-based which is commonly used in competing products.
Its concentration should be between 15% and 20% to be the most effective. Lower than 15% won’t stimulate optimal collagen and elastin production. Higher than 20% will increase the potential for irritation with no added benefit.
Most brands fail to meet some or all of these conditions, making their Vitamin C incapable of achieving the anti-aging benefits Vitamin C is known for.
How our Vitamin C is different
We have been perfecting the production of fully absorbable Vitamin C in skin care since 1995, when our founder Dr. Mostafa Omar invented topical Vitamin C, and solved for all three conditions:
Correct form
We use pure, L-Ascorbic Acid, which is the only proven form of Vitamin C that can be fully absorbed, as proven by clinical trials. Almost all skin care brands use partial ascorbic or a derivative, neither of which can be fully absorbed.
Water based
Our Vitamin C is water-based, not silicon-based like most brands use and which cannot be fully absorbed into the skin. Water-based Vitamin C is very hard to stabilize, and most companies haven’t mastered the process. We have.
Concentration of 15%
We use a concentration of 15% L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) in Superheal® O-Live Serum, which is a medium strength concentration that strikes the perfect balance between being a powerful anti-aging tool, without it being too harsh to cause irritation.

How Olive Leaf Extract

Olive leaf extract is a powerful anti-inflammatory and soothing antioxidant. First used in Ancient Egypt to treat disease, today it’s well documented for its anti-inflammatory effects. It’s a highly potent source of oleuropein, and also hydroxytyrosol, the strongest antioxidant in the world.
In our 2-Step Superheal® Anti-Aging System, olive leaf extract has two important roles. First, it soothes the skin against potentially irritating effects of Vitamin C. Second, it boosts the anti-aging effectiveness of Vitamin C, so your skin produces more collagen and elastin than simply using Vitamin C alone.
In 2003, our founder Dr. Mostafa Omar discovered that combining olive leaf extract with vitamins A and E increased the antioxidant protection factor of Vitamin C by a factor of 7.5-8 times, as shown below.
Figure 1 shows the antioxidant protection factor of various formulations having one or more of the following components: Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Olive Leaf Extract. It shows that the combination of Vitamin C, E, A and Olive Leaf Extracts provide the highest antioxidant protection. (US Patent # 6,743,449 B2)
Extracting olive leaf extract is a difficult and meticulous process.
Our unique process of extracting the antioxidants from olive leaves has been refined over years to create the most potent and effective dose.
